Reflexology is thought to have a cumulative effect and clients of mine regularly report relief of problematic symptoms such as irritability, anxiety, sleep issues, PMS, headaches, fatigue, aches and pains when they have regular treatment sessions.
Menopause Reflexology is a unique and specific programme aimed to support ladies transitioning from perimenopausal symptoms to menopause and beyond. It is unique in that it incorporates the face , hands and feet to harmonise the endocrine system, balance hormones and reduce stress and support the whole body.
The ideal rhythm is weekly treatments for 12 weeks, which is 3 months (or 12 sessions) and this allows you to be taken on a wellness journey, that is both healing and transformational for your mind, body and soul and can also impact the way you look. Everyone wants to look good for their age and this treatment can help you achieve this naturally. Also Reflexology is complementary and not an alternative due to the therapy so it can be used alongside HRT if that's the route you choose.
Many women experience symptoms and irregular periods for several years up to after the menopause itself.
Stage 1- perimenopause
Anxiety, dry skin, fatigue, feelings of bloating, headaches, heart palpitations, heavy bleeding, hot flushes, insomnia, irritability, decreased libido, loss of concentration, mood swings, night sweats, reduced stamina, urinary incontinence, vaginal atrophy and weight gain. Vertigo is another symptom. About 90% of women have changes in menstruation, mood swings, skin changes, and thinning hair The amount of bleeding may increase or decrease. Periods may become longer or shorter and happen more or less often. Some women have severe symptoms.
Stage 2- Menopause
The absence of a period for one whole year. You can still experience the symptoms above
Stage 2 - Post Menopause
This is classed as the years after the menopause and whilst symptoms will gradually decrease they can persist for a number of years. The decline or absence of oestrogen can mean changes to energy levels, memory, bone health, hormones, urinary and heart health. Reduction in oestrogen increases the likelihood of cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and vaginal atrophy
Premature Menopause occurs for different reasons however can cause an abrupt change to the hormone balance causing a sudden menopause.
All three reflexology zones can support your body to cope with these symptoms
Menopause AGE SPURT
It is a natural process for the skin to age as the dermis loses its capacity to produce collagen, so the skin naturally becomes less elastic and wrinkles of varying depth appear. Our skin becomes drier, loses its elasticity and becomes thinner. Our faces can age dramatically in a short period of time. This is most noticeable in peri-menopause and Menopause when oestrogen levels often drops rapidly.
The facial reflexology treatment can support you with this area and can be chosen as the first part of the zone face lift treatment
As well as Reflexology there are things you can do to help yourself:
The importance of diet, supplements, drinking plenty of water during the day, reducing alcohol and not smoking, supporting the liver and exercise, all apply here and are equally beneficial and can even reverse some of the effects of ageing.
